Sterilization for Hurghada hotels starts, and disinfection procedures every 3 hours

TheEgyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities announced in a statement today that, in light of the precautionary measures and measures to confront the new Corona virus, the Chamber of Hotel Establishments has coordinated with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities in purifying and sterilizing hotels and tourist facilities of all kinds.

 The work is done under the supervision of the Ministry of Health and Population.

Majed Fawzi, head of the Hotel Establishments Chamber, said in a statement that the chamber started the sterilization campaign as an initial stage for hotels in Hurghada governorate, and then it will start next week in hotels in Luxor and other touristic cities . 

He pointed out that the sterilization process takes place under the supervision of the Ministry of Health and Population and is implemented by special teams for each hotel that has been trained in accordance with international standards for clearance procedures, using materials approved by the Ministry.


These teams sanitize all surfaces in contact with tourists, guests and hotel visitors every 3 hours in public areas, corridors, hotel rooms, elevators, stairs, doors, handles and other places in contact with people.

 Fawzi confirmed that the German company TUV-Nord is now in the process of examining and inspecting hotels to ensure that the procedures for disinfection and sterilization are carried out according to the recognized international standards that start from the prevention period to the injury detection period and beyond.

 Fawzi stressed that the company will also train workers on methods of optimal behavior in the event of a case of injury in the hotel by training employees and simulating viral infection, as well as awareness programs for hotel workers on ways to prevent and protect from the virus.
